Today’s song is from a ‘Social’ film Chaar Chaand-1953.
Actually there was nothing ‘Social’ about this film. It was a simple, worn out story of a Raj Kumar and a wicked Vazier (Dewan). They both love the same girl. Additionally, there was an identical pair of sisters too, to add masala to the story.

Chaar Chaand -1953 was one of those non-descript movies which leave no trace behind them, once they go off the screen.
I had not seen this film and I did not get any information about this film anywhere on the net or in any books or magazines. With a star cast of B grade, like Shyama, Suresh, Bhagwan, Shaikh, Majnu, Cuckoo etc, even its production banner was not well known- Fine art films, Bombay.

This song, I remember from many years ago, having heard it on the radio and then in collections of Talat Mehmood. Just browsing through the YouTube, I discovered this song again after a long time, and then an added bonus too. This song is also sung by Asha Bhosle in the same film.
