In this short write-up, I present the last song, ‘aaya hoon gharbaar chhod main ban ne filmi star’ to be covered on the Blog from an obscure film, ‘Bahke Kadam’ (1971). The song is written by Dharmesh Dutt which is set to music by Usha Khanna. The film was produced and directed by Dharmesh Dutt who also acted in the film and wrote the songs. The cast included Agha, Aprajita, Dharmesh Dutt, Madan Puri, Jagirdar, Sundar, Mridula, Sulochana, Kanu Roy etc. This appears to be the only film of Dharmesh Dutt as a producer, director, actor and song writer. The VCD/DVD of the film is not available on any video sharing platform.
The song under discussion is rendered by Mohammed Rafi. Since video clip of the song is not available, I can only make a guess based on the lyrics that the song may have been picturised on Agha. Two features of this song are that in the last stanza, suddenly the mukhda part of the song, ‘dil dekhe dekho’ gets incorporated. Incidentally, the old song was also rendered by Mohammed Rafi and set to music by Usha Khanna.

“Bahke Kadam”(1971) was directed by Dharmesh Dutt for Kalashree, Bombay. The movie had Dharmesh Dutt, Aparajita, Madan Puri, Aaga, Jagirdar, Sundar, Sulochana, Mridula, Kanu Roy, Alka P, Sudha Kothari, Yunus Bihari, Chaman Choti, Dhananjay, Satish, Major Sudan, Bijendra, Kailash Dhiman, Sadiq, Anita Sinha, Ramesh Verma, Sharad, Jagmal, Karan Singh, Suresh Sinha, Kajal, Lal ji, S.Sinha, Shankar Mamtora, Vishnu, Narendra, Prakash, Suraj, Ramkishore, Sitaram, Yasin, L.M.Prabhu, Anand Sharma etc in it. Suparna was credited in a Special appearance.

Today’s song is from the ‘1971’ movie ‘Bahke Kadam’.
This movie made its debut on the blog on 07.10.2015 when one of its songs was posted on the blog.
While presenting the first song from this movie, I had mentioned that one other song from this movie was available on YouTube. I had also mentioned that this movie seemed to be an obscure movie of its time.
When I was looking for a song sung by Manna Dey from this movie I discovered that the audio of the remaining two songs have also become available on YouTube now. But, the video of this movie or its songs still seems to be unavailable.

One of the objectives of this series is to launch the missing films from this decade 1971-1980 on the blog; rather it is the foremost objective. So those, then one by one all the films for all the calendar years (of this decade) are covered in the blog.
And, still, there are many films from the very first year i.e. 1971 of this decade that are yet to make a debut on this blog. I have not watched many of these films too and also in many cases have never heard their songs before. But, HFGK has made it possible for me that I came to know about such films and can search for their songs.
