جو چپ رہے گی زبان خنجر لہو پکارے گا آستیں کا
ہوائے مے میں ہوں محو ایسا چمن میں گھر کر جو ابر آیا
سیہ مستی میں میں یہ سمجھا جہاز ہے آب آتشیں کا
امیرؔ دیکھا جو اس کا نقشہ تو نقشہ یوسف کا دل سے اترا
کہ نقش ثانی کے آگے ہوتا فروغ کیا نقش اولیں کا
हुआ जो पैवंद मैं ज़मीं का तो दिल हुआ शाद मुझ हज़ीं का
बस अब इरादा नहीं कहीं का कि रहने वाला हूँ मैं यहीं का
क़रीब है यारो रोज़-ए-महशर छुपेगा कुश्तों का ख़ून क्यूँ-कर
जो चुप रहेगी ज़बान-ए-ख़ंजर लहू पुकारेगा आस्तीं का
हवा-ए-मय में हूँ महव ऐसा चमन में घिर कर जो अब्र आया
सियह-मस्ती में मैं ये समझा जहाज़ है आब-ए-आतशीं का

The above is the complete ghazal by Ameer Minai. The famous line “Jo chup rahegi zubaan e khanjar, lahu pukaregaa aasteen ka” is partly used in the last stanza of this song posted recently. Since the famous line is the crux of the matter, and full ghazal is the complete story, so given above as food for thought.

“Dushman”(1957) was directed by Raj Rishi for Kwatra Art Productios, Bombay. The movie had Dev Anand, Usha Kiran, Radhakishan, Kumkum, Prabhu Dayal, Master Romi, Manju, Minu Mumtaz, Chaad Burque, Panditjee, Manjeet, Raja Kapoor, Nagpal, Jerry, Ravikant, Jagdeesh Kamal, Nadir, S Gautam, Prakash Dutt, Sharma, Chadrakant etc in it.

Mention of RK Films brings to mind the unbroken partnership of 22 long years between the music director duo of Shankar Jaikishan and the songwriters Shialnedra and Hasrat Jaipuri. Starting from ‘Barsaat’ in 1949, and all the way up to ‘Mera Naam Joker’ in 1971, this quartet ruled the music and songs at RK Films, collaborating for every RK film produced during this period (with the exception of Shailendra, who passed away in 1966).
