Today 11th February’2023 is the ‘thirty-fourth’ ‘Remembrance Anniversary’ of Poet-Lyricist Pandit Narendra Sharma.
He was born on 28th February’1913 and he passed away on 11th February’1989 at the age of seventy-five years.
As a tribute to him, here is a song from the ‘1947’ movie ‘Jail Yatra’.

“Jail Yatra”(1947) was produced and directed by Gajanan Jageerdaar for Jaageerdaar productions, Bombay. This “Social” movie had Gajanan Jageerdaar, Kamini Kaushal, Raj Kapoor, Harish, Bikram Kapoor, Badri Prasad, Sunalini Devi, Dixit, Ramlal, Hemavati, Pratima Devi , Sagar, Munawwar Khan, Rammurty, Satyanarayan, Ramlal, Shamlal etc in it.

Is Raj Kapoor singing a song for himself?
That was my reaction (to myself) when I heard for the first time, the song ae duniya ke rahne waalon bolo kahaan gaya chitchor from ‘Dil Ki Raani’ (1947) on the Blog. I could not believe that it was Raj Kapoor’s voice. This happened just a few days after I joined the Blog in July 2011. At that time, I felt that this could be a case of giving credit to the actor on the gramophone record label on whom the song was picturised instead of accrediting the real playback singer who could be someone else. At that time, I was not even aware of Har Mandir Singh ‘Hamraaz’ saab’s publications, Hindi Films Geet Kosh (HFGK).
