Another solo by Geeta Dutt to continue the series. Actually it is the same team as the last song from “Sitaaron se Aage “ viz. Majrooh Sultanpuri and S. D. Burman. This happens to be a song not used and excluded song from the film ‘ Paying Guest ’ (1957) It may not have been picturized, as only audio links are available on youtube. Incidently, this is the remaining song from the film to be posted. Another great score is completed with this song.

I have posted as many as five songs from “Paying Guest” (1957) already. Now I have been given the farmaish for the remaining songs of this movie. Going by the farmaishes of sid, it appears that only two more songs are left to be posted from this movie.

“Paying guest” (1957) was one of those musical extravaganzas that were full of very nice songs. When I last counted, I have already posted 4 songs from this movie excluding this one, and there are still many more popular songs from this movie that remain to be posted.

Indian classical music has raagas for different periods of time- viz morning raags, evening raagas etc. I have little understanding of them, but when it comes to Bollywood music, there is one category of songs which I have created for myself. I call it “chaayageet” category songs.

Kishore Kumar was an upcoming singer in 1950s whom S D Burman had taken him under his wing. S D Burman, who was the regular music director of Dev Anand’s home production ( Navketan) gave Kishore Kumar the opportunity to sing for Dev Anand. And Kishore Kumar grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
