The combination of Producer Dhanpat Rai and director B J Patel is known for their stunt/action genre of films. This combination has produced as many as 14 films in this genre beginning with ‘Silver King’ (1957) to their last film, ‘Phir Aaya Toofaan’ (1973). Most of the actors in their films had been those who can be identified with stunt/action films. The hero and heroines in their films may not be common but some of the characters actors in their films such as Nilofer, Rajan Kapoor, Habib, Vishwa Mehra, Master Bhagwan, Dalpat, Mirajkar, Babu Raje etc were repeated in most of their films.

Today is 19 july 2020. It was on this day in 2008 that this blog had started.
I had observed that the starting date was perhaps pre ordained. That day in 2008 was the first day of the month of Shraawan (or saawan), which is so very appropriate for a HFM blog, seeing that a big chunk of FM is inspired by saawan related songs, viz “rain songs”, “saawan ke jhoole” songs, and many other genres of songs.
I recently made another discovery. 19 july 2008 (and also today viz 19 july 2020) happen to be the 200th day of the year ! So, the belief that some higher forces , (rather than us mortals) are driving the affairs of this blog gets validated yet again.

Though most Hindi movies are based on native themes, often drawn from mythology, folk tales, history, contemporary day to day life etc, there have been movies based on non Indian topics as well.
Tarzan for some reason has been a very popular non Indian character that gets covered in Hindi movies quite often.

Unko hamse badi shiqaayat hai

This article is written by Arunkumar Deshmukh, a fellow enthusiast of Hindi movie music and a regular contributor to this blog.
I started this series with great enthusiasm, thinking that our readers will like to read about a set of films no one talks about. There are no articles or any information on Action films anywhere.
This genre of ” C ” grade films is disappearing fast and in last few years atleast I have not seen a C grade film. One of the main reasons may be that in today’s world of slick films, advanced technology and special effects(SFX) techniques and computerised imaging, the real life stunts are no more exciting. In today’s films you can see the Hero jumping from building to building and run faster that a Bullet Train. Such acts are not possible in old style manual stunts, come what may.
