I know about many older movies, but frankly I had never heard of this movie called “Sitaaraa” (1980). I became aware of this movie and its songs only because of the lyrics of this song sent by Prakashchandra.

“Sitaara” (1955) is an obscure movie starring Pradeep Kumar and Vyjyantimala, and also Begam Para,Helen etc. As is the case with most obscure movies, this movie too has some nice songs in it that deserve to be better known among music lovers.

“Sitaaraa” (1955) is a by now forgotten movie that had Pradeep Kumar and Vyjyantimala in lead roles. The songs of this movie are just as obscure as the movie itself. But I have found that the songs of this movie are gems.

I have mentioned it that drunkard songs, in which an actor is seen getting drunk and singing asong is mainly a preserve of male actors. On the other hand, a woman getting drunk and making a spectacle of herself is considered rather unheard of. That is why one rarely finds songs in which female actors are seen singing drunkard songs.
