“Vidyapati” (1937) was directed by Debaki Bose. This movie had Pahadi Sanyal in the title role with Kanan Devi acting opposite him. This movie also had Prithviraj Kapoor, Chhaya Devi, K C Dey, Kidar Sharma and Leela Desai.

“Vidyapati” (1937) is one of the earliest Hindi talkies and it is one that was a landmark movie of its time. It was produced by Calcutta’s New Theatre. This movie starred Pahadi Sanyal, Prithviraj Kapoor, Kanan Devi, K C Dey, K N Singh, Kidar Sharma, Nemo, Chhaaya Devi, Leela Desai etc.

Hari charanana mein safal…panghat pe Kanhaiyya aataa hai

When I look back at the list of pending farmaishes in the farmaish page of this blog, I see that the oldest farmaishes are by sid for a few K C Dey songs. All these days, I did not know where to find these songs. Now I have been able to find these rare songs. So I will try and clear the backlock of this and other pending farmaishes.
