“Geet gaata chal”, where Sachin debuted as a hero, paired against Sarika, another debutant, was a musical blockbuster from Rajshri productions. Its title song sung by debutant singer Jaspal Singh was a chartbuster. Another song from this movie- “Shyam teri bansi pukare Radha naam” sung by Aarti Mukherjee (another debutant) and Jaspal Singh,also became popular, and in fact, it become a Krishna bhajan, with many cover versions sung by many artists.
On the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, here is this song, which has become an immortal bhajan by now.

Wow,this song is beautiful.I’ve never heard of either of the singers,did they sing in anything else? Also,what exactly makes a ghazal a ghazal? Is it the music or the lyrics? I’m beginning to recognise qawwalis,but I’m still confused about ghazals.

Jaspal Singh and Aarti Mukherji had brief careers of a few years, and they sang mostly in the movies of the same production house (rajshri Productions) that produced this movie.
Geet Gaata Chal is a Hindi film released in 1975,featuring – Sachin, Sarika . Produced by Tarachand Barjatya for Rajshri and I think this is the main song of the movie.
