Jab tak rahe tan mein jiya

This is a song that was quite well known to me, but those days I never knew which movie this song was from. It was only recently that I came to know that this movie was called “Samadhi”.
In those days prior to VCR/ Video players, the only way to watch a movie was on the big screen. It mostly meant watching the movie on cinema halls. Some times though, some people/ clubs would sponsor movies that would be shown at night on open space for free.
Movies that were shown for free like this were obviously those movies which were not popular enough to be shown in movie halls.
I had watched a movie called “haqueeqat” like this. This movie “Samadhi” was also shown for free, but I did not watch that.
Now that I have more information about this movie, I am aghast to recall that this movie “Samadhi” was such a flop that it was not considered fit to be shown in movie halls. Now when I watch its songs, its songs are such nice songs to listen to, and I have heard many people vouching for the fact that even its story line was very good.
The fact that such a nice movie should suffer such a fate shows that Indian movie watchers in those days were very immature indeed.
Well, in this era of internet and instant communications, we have an advantage over the technologically hamstrung 1970s. We can watch the movies of 1970s and earlier which failed to even find cinema halls during their times. And this song from this movie is a nice song that definitely deserves to be discussed in my blog.
So here is this very nice song from the movie “Samadhi” of 1972.

I will look for its VCD. There days one can get legal VCDs for Rs 30, less than the price of a movie ticket. How times have changed ?

hi atul , y are u searching for VCD for movies … U can download the whole movie from Internet … and if u dont want to download u can watch movies online

Atul, you got a chance to see Samadhi and you did not ?
You should see it.
Indeed the songs are very nice and I really liked the storyline too.
