In Bollywood movies, hero woos the lady by singing a song, where he may make tall promises (I will love you for hundred births, I will turn the world topsy turvy for your sake etc). Then there are songs where the boy teases the girl, and the girl, despite taking serious exceptions, somehow begins to respond to hero’s advances as the song progresses.
But what about this song ? Here the hero is teasing the girl, and doing it while wearing a disguise. As Bollywood movie disguises go, everyone watching the movie knows who is the guy behind the false beard, except the girl. So the boy teases the girl for over 3 minutes by singing “tu na mili to hum jogi ban jaayenge”, and the girl desperately tries to shake him off, but the guy is persistent.
Hero’s persistence, where he keeps appearing before the girl from different places is so reminiscent of the “Johny Mera Naam” song “pal bhar ke liye koyi hamen pyaar kar le”.
The song finishes and the girl is still unable to figure out who is the person, so the hero has no option but to tear off his false beared and reveal his true self, and he does so by singing excerpts from another song of the movie viz “dekha maine dekha, sapnon ki ik raani ko.”
Whatever you may say, I as a kid loved this song when I used to listen to it in 1972.

This movie brings back a lot of memories.
I remember it being a huge hit at that time.
Especially the song “do bechare, bina sahaarey” was a very big hit. Other songs were hits too.
Btw, I think you meant Johnny Mera Naam and not Raja Jaani when you talked about “pal bhar ke liye”.
