Haath aaya hai jabse tera

What are the odds of you walking on a beach and stumbling upon gems every few steps ? Well, I have been exploring Bollywood music and I am coming across gems after gems. In some cases, I at least knew the names of the movies, and in some cases, I was not even aware about the name of the movie. And when I listen to these songs, I am amazed to find that these songs are lying forgotten.
I am pleased that I have been able to bring a few such forgotten songs back to circulation for the listening ( and viewing) pleasures of Bollywood music fans.
“Dil aur Mohabbat” is one such forgotten movie from 1968. The movie was forgotten, and so was the music. When I listened to the music, I was hooked. This movie must be regarded as O P Nayyar’s magnum opus.
This song “Haath aaya hai jabse tera” is sung so beautifully by Asha Bhonsle and Mahendra Kapoor. I have already listened to this song a few times, and I cannot have enough of this song.
The lyricist is Shevan Rizvi, who is by now as unknown to fans as the name of this movie.

Lyrics
haath aaya hai
haath aaya hai jab se tera haath mein
aa gaya hai naya rang jazbaat mein
main kahaan hoonn mujhe ye khabar hi nahin
tere qadmon pe hi gir na jaaun kahin
haath aaya hai jab se tera haath mein
aa gaya hai naya rang jazbaat mein
main kahaan hoon mujhe ye khabar hi nahin
tere qadmon pe hi gir na jaaun kahin
haath aaya hai
dil mein nazron se chup chup ke aaya hai tu
dil mein nazron se chup chup ke aaya hai tu
dil chura kar mera muskuraaya hai tu
tu kahe to main
tu kahe to main
ek baat tujh se kahoon
mera saathi nahin balki saaya hai tu
mera saathi nahin balki saaya hai tu
ungliyaan jab zamane ki mujh par uthe
kho na jaana kahin aise haalaat mein
roshni zindagi mein muhabbat se hai
varna rakha hai kya chaandni raat mein
haath aaya hai
dil ke jazbaat ko main na thukraaunga
aaa
dil ke jazbaat ko main na thukraaunga
balki tasavir-e-jazabaat ban jaayunga
oh ho ha ha ha
haq muhabbat ka
oh ho ho o o
haq muhabbat ka hota hai kaise ada
vaqt aaya to main ye bhi dikhalaanga
vaqt aaya to main ye bhi dikhalaaunga
pyar ke devta ke qadam choom kar
zindagi nazar kar doongi saugaat mein
ab na ghabraao manzil ki doori se tum
tum akele nahin main bhi hoon saath mein
haath aaya hai

Atulji,
Only one song is remaining to list this movie “all songs covered”
It’s just a short dance song with only few words…. Not sure if it qualifies to be a song.
