Aapke pahloo me aake ro diye

I have mentioned that “Mera Saaya” has several memorable Lata songs. This movie also as a Rafi song and it is just as nicely sung and is just as beautiful to listen to.
This song blends in so nicely with the theme and mood of the movie. And Rafi does nearly as great a job as Lata is known to have done with Madan Mohan many a times- viz to come up with immortal Madan Mohan numbers.
This song is one of the memorable Madan Mohan songs. Of course, I know that one can say this about many other Madan Mohan songs. But when someone says about it for this movie “Mera Saaya”, one must concur without a second thought.
Picturisation is just as moving as the audio of this movie. In fact, the movie itself was a masterpiece.

Song-Aapke pahloo me aake ro diye (Mera Saaya) (1966) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Raja Mehndi Ali Khan, MD-Madan Mohan
Lyrics
aapke pahloo mein aakar ro diye
aapke pahloo mein aakar ro diye
daastaan-e-gham sunaakar ro diye
aapke pahloo mein aakar ro diye
zindagi ne kar diyaa jab bhi udaas
zindagi ne kar diyaa jab bhi udaas
aa gaye ghabraa ke ham manzil ke paas
sar jhukaayaa, sar jhukaakar ro diye
aapke pahloo mein aakar ro diye
shaam jab aansoo bahaati aa gayi
shaam jab aansoo bahaati aa gayi
har taraf gham ki udaasi chhaa gayi
deep yaadon ke jalaakar ro diye
aapke pahloo mein aakar ro diye
gham judaayi kaa sahaa jaataa nahin
gham judaayi kaa sahaa jaataa nahin
aapke bin ab rahaa jaataa nahin
pyaar mein kyaa-kyaa ganwaakar ro diye
daastaan-e-gham sunaakar ro diye
aapke pahloo mein aakar ro diye

One of my favorite sad songs sung by Rafi saab. Also the song from Madhumati titled, Toote Hue Khwabon Ne comes to mind.

One of my favourite songs.
I say this for a lot of songs – but that is how it is.
Everything about it is just perfect.
The picturisation, the acting, the song itself – it is all so credible, you can lose yourself in this song.
