This song is sung by Rafi and Suman Kalyanpur. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist and Shankar Jaikishan have composed the music.
Based on the above details, one may guess this song to be from a Shammi Kapoor movie, or at least a movie from Shammi Kapoor clone/imitator.
But when I watched the picturisation, I failed to recognise the gentleman, though I could notice that Vyjyanti Mala played the lead role.
Now, after some digging, I gather that the gentleman playing the male lead is Uttam Kumar who was the biggest male star of Bangla movies those days.
I have no idea how this movie “chhoti si mulaaqaat” fared at the box office. This duet song though is a nice song to listen to. It is yet another of those songs that I have stumbled upon in recent times, much to my pleasant surprise.

Yes, I too thought the hero looked like Vishwajeet, but appeared different. Both incidentally were big stars in Bangla movies those days.

I saw this movie a couple of months ago.
Brought back memories of my very young days when I had seen this movie.
The movie was OK – quite predictable actually.
Good song this one is though.

The movie did fairly well at the box office.This movie also had another hit song—Choti si Mulaqat pyar ban gayi sung by Rafi-Asha.
Uttam kumar and Biswajeet,look so much alike.
