Waada karle saajna tere bina main na rahoon

“Haath Ki Safaai” (1974) was a movie featuring Vinod Khanna, Randhir Kapoor, Hema Malini and Rekha (I think ) Simi Garewal. Despite such names, the movie was soon forgotten.
But this movie had some nice songs. The fun song “peene waalon ko peene ka bahaana chaahiye” from this movie has already been posted in this blog.
Here is another song, which was more mainstream song in the sense that it talks about “Waada” (promise) and such stuff. In fact, I am surprised that I did not think of the tag “Waada” song so far. Better late than never, and now I have opened this tag.

I just saw the write up of this song, actually i was checking if this song was posted already & what do i see!!!! surprise you ve mentioned Rekha instead of Simi Garewal ! & then u will say i am pulling you up for ur mistakes!!!!

in the raag: Basant-Mukhari (बसन्त-मुखारी)
I especially love the aalaaps (आलाप) in each of the two stanzas,
Each is a 4-beat-long प, followed by
four ornaments of four sixteenth-notes each:
मध॒पम, ग॒पमग॒, रे॒मगरे॒, साग॒रेसा.
Technically a semi-breve, followed by four clusters of 4 semi-quavers.
