“Zameen Aasmaan”(1946) was directed by Dwarka Khosla for Saubhagya Pictures. During the making of the movie, Saubhagya Pictures was taken over by Prakash Pictures so the movie was promoted and distributed by Prakash Pictures, Bombay.
“Zameen Aasmaan”(1946) had Jeewan and Ranjana in lead roles. The movie also had Kusum Deshpande (Ranjana’s elder sister), Ramesh Sinha, Ved Prakash, Om Prakash, Bhola Ram, Sitaram, Burque, Athavale, Laxman, Tika Ram, Krishna, S Jadhav etc in it.
“Zameen Aasmaan”(1946) had eleven songs in it. Two songs have been covered in the past.
The story of this movie was given in FilmIndia and quoted by our beloved inhouse encyclopaedia, Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, while covering an earlier song from the movie, is:
Nanak Chand (Ramesh Sinha) owns a sugar mill in partnership with Ravi (Jeevan)- son of his dead partner Pooran Chand. Ravi’s marriage with Nirmala (Kusum) is already announced, before he went to England for higher studies, but Ravi is not interested. Ravi is distressed by the plight of his factory workers, he meets Kamala (Ranjana) in a jungle ashramcalled Bharati Ashram. They fall in love.
There is a conflict between Nanak Chand and his workers. Ravi takes workers’ side. Finally, Nanak chand has to bow down and Ravi and Kamala unite.
Here is the third song from “Zameen Aasmaan”(1946) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Kalyani Das. Faiyyaz Hashmi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kamal Dasgupta.
Only audio of the song is available. Kalyani Das was the only female playback singer in the movie and she sang as many as eight songs (out of 11). So one can guess that she sang for the leading lady, viz Ranjana.

tumko dikha rahee hoon

tumko dikha rahee hoon
main tumko aazmaaoon
ye chaahtee thhee lekin
main tumko aazmaaoon
ye chaahtee thhee lekin
mujhse bichhad ke mujhko

tum aazmaa rahe ho

jo khud ko bhool baithha
wo dil tujhe na bhoola
jo khud ko bhool baithha
wo dil tujhe na bhoola
tum yaad aa rahe thhey
tum yaad aa rahe ho
tum yaad aa rahe thhey
tum yaad aa rahe ho
nazren bata raheen hain
tum door ja rahe ho
