Ye zindagi ke mele
Posted on: March 4, 2009
This song has become an iconic song, and I just realised that this song was composed 60 years ago.
And the words ( written by Shakeel Badayuni) ring so true. This song in fact talks about the fact that time stands for none. This song was sung by Rafi and the music director was Naushad. This song was picturised on Dilip Kumar. Except Dilip Kumar, others involved in creating this timeless classic are no longer with us.
And this song, in fact talks about that very fact, that life would go on, but alas, we will not be there at that time. How prophetic and how very accurate !

Song-Ye zindagi ke mele (Mela) (1948) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Shakeel Badayuni, MD-Naushad
Lyrics
ye zindagi ke mele
ye zindagi ke mele,
duniyaa mein kam na honge
afsos ham na honge
ik din padegaa jaanaa, kyaa waqt, kyaa zamaanaa
koyi na saath degaa, sab kuchh yahin rahegaa
jaayenge ham akele, ye zindagi ke mele …
duniyaa hai mauj-e-dariyaa, qatre ki zindagi kyaa
paani mein mil ke paani, anjaam ye ke paani
dam bhar ko saans le le, ye zindagi …
hongi yahi bahaaren, ulfat ki yaadagaaren
bigadegi aur chalegi, duniyaa yahi rahegi
honge yahi jhamele, ye zindagi …

Only Rafi’s song in the movie which has all songs sung by Mukesh. Rafi saab’s voice have given more prophetic sense to this song.

Why you gave wrong information, this song was not picturized on Dilip Kumar, but an unknown actor.
