Doori na rahe koyi aaj itne kareeb aao

“Kartavya” (1978) was a Dharmendra-Rekha movie which for some reason has been forgotten, so much so that I have not been able to get my hands on its VCD/DVD despite trying for several weeks.
The reason why I wanted the video of this movie was for just this song, viz “doori na rahe koi, aaj itne kareeb aao”. The movie is forgotten, but this song has survived. And I find the lyrics by Verma Malik quite sensuous.Laxmikant Pyarelal’s music is soft for a change in this song and Lata’s voice weaves magic.
Since the video of this song is not available ( and who knows, the video could well turn out to be a disappointment), here is just the song, wiith Lata’s picture.
PS-The video of the song with some imposter’s voice was doing the rounds on youtube all these days. Now I have finally managed to locate the video with the voice of Lata as well.

Song-Doori na rahe koyi aaj itne kareeb aao (Kartavya) (1978) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Verma Malik, MD-Laxmikant Pyarelal
Lyrics
ho ho ho
doori
doori na rahe koi
aaj itne kareeb aaoo
doori na rahe koi
aaj itne kareeb aaoo
main tum mein samaa jaaun
tum mujh mein samaa jaao
main tum mein sama jaaun
tum mujh mein samaa jaao
doori na rahe koi
aaj itne kareeb aaoo
main tum mein sama jaaun
tum mujh mein samaa jaao
saanson ki haraarat se
tanhaai pighal jaaye
jalte hue hoothon ka
armaan nikal jaaye
saason ki hararat se
tanhaai pighal jaaye
jalte hue hoothon ka
armaan nikal jaaye
armaan nikal jaaye
chaahat ki ghaata ban kar
yoon mujhpe baras jaao
main tum mein samaa jaaun
tum mujhe mein samaa jaao
main tum mein samaa jaaun
tum mujhe mein samaa jaao
yeh baat na thi ab se pahle
kabhi jeene mein
yeh baat na thi ab se pahle
kabhi jeene mein
dil ban ke dhadkte ho
tumhi mere seene mein
Kabhi saath na chodoge
tum meri kasam khaao
main tumein sama jaaun
tum mujhe mein sama jaao
doori na rahe koi
aaj itne kareeb aaoo
main tumein sama jaaun
tum mujhe mein sama jaao
main tumein samaa jaun
tum mujhe mein samaa jaao

Several weeks? That’s nothing! Try several months! I’ve been searching like a mad person for this movie and can’t find it anywhere. It seems like this movie is such a flop because all the shops that I went to said this movie hasn’t been released to DVD as yet. Will it ever??

Please correct the lyricist`s name as KAFEEL AAZAR, He has written this song and Varma Malik is not the lyricist of this song…

The song from our college days a gem from LP (my all time favourite). I assembled a three band transistor and used to listen this song at full volume.
Second from the same film equally ranked by me is “Mera Dil Leke Leke Chal Diye”.
Used to see the song on DoorDarshan on Wednesday/Fridays in Chitrahar. The Video is not bad at all.
