Ham tere bina jee na sakenge sanam

Ganesh, the younger brother of Pyarelal ( of Laxmikant Pyarelal fame) had assisted his brother in their earlier movies, including “Parasmani”. In fact, it is said that Ganesh and Shashikant ( brother of Laxmikant) had played big roles behind the success of their brothers in that movie.
Ganesh made his debut as a music director in “Thakur Jarnail Singh” (1966). It was a movie that had Dara Singh, Helen and Mumtaz in main roles.
I have so far posted 8 songs composed by Ganesh, and all of them are memorable songs. Here is another song. This song happens to be perhaps the very first song that Ganesh must have composed as a music director. And what a song ! I recall having listened to this fine Asha Bhonsle song during my younger days, but I never realised that this song was composed by Ganesh.
This song is picturised on Dara Singh and Helen. Helen actually plays the role of heroine in this movie. Here she is dressed “normally” ( in Salwar Kurta) and sings this song expressing her love for Dara Singh.
The song is written by Asad Bhopali.
What a wonderful debut song Ganesh came up with ! Just out of this world.
