In Bollywood movies, hero would give lift to the heroine, and after some time, the heroine, accusing the hero of making pass on her, would ask the car to be stopped and she would then walk out of the car.
In this song too, we find Hema Malini, the heroine, out of Jeetendra’s tiny fiat car. Apparently, in this case, she had walked out finding the car too cramped for the two of them.
But then rain strikes. She obviously does not have the aptitude for enjoying rains by getting drenched in it. So she rushes back to the car and asks Jeetendra to let her in as she was getting wet outside. She assures Jeetendra that she would manage to accomodate her inside the car this time.
Jeetendra relents and lets her in.
Now, what do they do once they are inside the car. Simple, they break into a song. After all, the first principle of Bollywood movie is- when in doubt, break into a song.
And I must agree, it is quite a nice hummable song too. The song sound nice when sung by any singers, but when it is sung by Rafi and Lata, the song has been elevated to another plane. Just listen to this song and admire the singing quality of Rafi and Lata.
Rajinder Krishan’s lyrics are very nice and imaginative indeed. And the music was composed by my favourite music director R D Burman. Overall, it is a very nice song that one can enjoy listening to, as well as watching.

Great song from Waris! This movie is full of interesting tunes. A small correction though, the music director is R.D. Burman. Thanks for sharing!

one of the most vulgar songs ever picturised, but vulgarity gets backshadowed by the quality of this nice song

There is something so ethereal about this song.. one of the best Lata & Rafi duets. Another one of those songs that you will never get tired of listening to. Thanks for the post Atul ji :).
