Most Bollywood movie songs are about grown up themes, viz love, romance, nostalgia etc. But every now and then, we also have songs meant for kids. And a few of these kids songs have gone on to become immortal.
Here is one such song that I loved as a kid. It goes “chun chun karti aayi chidiya daal kaa daana laayi chidiya”. This song is sung by Rafi. It is picturised on Yaaqub ( who sings this song) for a kid. Any idea who is this kid ?
This song is from a movie called “Ab Dilli Door Nahin” (1957). Shailendra wrote this immortal song and the music was by that highly respected music director of that time called Dattaram.

I think the kid is Master Romi or Rattan Kumar. Cant say for sure.

“Naani teri morni” original video does not seem to be available. And I dislike all these amateur videos that use the audio of this song.

thanks a lot….. when i was a kid, I used to listen to this song almost everyday on a record player that my father had….. now as a mom of an 18 month old, living in USA, i have been looking for all those childhood memories and finally I found them here.

I heard this song since childhood, now at 44 I had a fortune of seeing the video & I was surprise to see the use of “Animation” in those days. Great site with great collection.
