Kishore Kumar, after making a laugh riot “Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi” (1958) subsequently made serious movies touching upon serious topics. In these movies, Kishore Kumar gave his all. He was not just the producer of these movies, he acted and sang and even composed the music in these movies.
“Door Ka Raahi” had some of the most memorable songs that Kishore Kumar sang in his career. These songs were written by A Irshaad and Kishore Kumar sang these songs with great feeling.
Here is a song from this movie. “Panthi hoon main us path ka” is a philosophical song that has the ability to movie its listeners even today. It is a less known song , but this song deserves to be much better known to music lovers.

An interesting sidelight: the lyric writer Irshad was none but Kishore Kumar himself- his muslim name on converting to Islam to marry Madhubala. So I heard- wonder if it was true!

What does “Palchin ke phuljare” mean? That is the only phrase that eludes me. Is it “fireflies”? or “starlight”?
