Sun sun sun re balam

Yesterday I posted a long pending farmaish for a song of “Pyaar Mohaabat” (1966). Today, I am posting the other song from this movie, and with that my backlog of farmaishes from 2008 is cleared. 😉
Like the other song from this movie, this song “sun sun sun re balam” too is a “new” song for me. It is a phone song. Saira Bano sings this song on phone to Dev Anand. In the last portion of the song, Dev saab sings too.
The song is sung by Sharda and Rafi. Sharda was being promoted as an alternative to Lata by Shankar Jaikishan. There are a few fans who liked her voice, but majority were not much impressed by her voice. I think that she had limitations and there was no way she could have competed with the other leading female singers of the time. But at least Shankar Jaikishan tried their level best with her.
The video shows Saira Bano singing and the portion where Dev saab sings is missing. So I have posted the full audio link also where one can listen to Rafi’s portion of the song too.
Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist of this song.

The video of the Rafi’s’ version of the song is not available on DVD.except one line of Rafi which he sings towards the end of Sharda’s version of the song.
Surprisingly, the video of Rafi’s version of the song is available on YT.
