Minu Mumtaz, who was a sister of Mehmood was a popular dancer in Bollywood movies of 1950s and 60s.
Here is a delightful dance performed by her. This is a “roadside tamasha” dance where She and Johny Walker perform and they are watched by a crowd. The crowd included Ashok Kumar and Madhubala as well.
This delightful light hearted song is written by Prem Dhawan and music is by Ravi, the song is sung by Geeta Dutt and S Balbir.
Those days, Rafi’s voice was used for all male singers in a one size fits all fashion, so it is nice to see S Balbir giving playback for Johny Walker. His low pitched voice makes for an interesting listening.
It is a very nice song and dance which I listened and watched for the first time only yesterday.
