Prabhu tero naam

These days, I have been posting songs of “Ham Dono” (1961) and waxing eloquent about these songs. I have so far posted 5 songs from this movie, and every one of these songs is outstanding.
Here is the sixth song from this movie, and this song belongs to the same league. Its lyrics “Prabhu tero naam” may resemble the first line of another song from this movie, but that is where the resemblence ends. It is an entirely different song.
This song is sung by Lata and picturised on Nanda, with Lalita Pawar playing a caring mother in law for a change, also there in the picturisation.
Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist and Jaidev is the music director, As mentioned earlier, this song is an outstanding song, and one can listen to this song several times, without feeling bored.

This is in raga Dhani. Rishab and both the dhaivats – shuddha and komal – have been ingeniously used. Pandit Jaidev was indeed a supreme genius 🙂
