Many people may only be aware of the new “Parineeta”, but in reality, the original and real “Parineeta” is the movie that was based on Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s story and it was picturised in 1953. It was made in Bangla, Hindi, and may be in other languages too.
This “Parineeta” (1953) may have been forgotten along with its songs, but I have recently discovered that this movie has some great songs in it.
Here is a lovely song from this movie that is sung by Geeta Dutt. This song is written by Bharat Vyas and music is by Arun Kumar Mukherji. I listened to this song for the first time only just now. Having listened to this song, I am mesmerised. Looking at the stills that formed the picturisation, now I am feeling like watching the movie, that is how impressed I am with this song.
