So jaa mere pyaare so jaa

“Lori” (Lullaby) is a much loved category of song. Most popular lories of Bollywood movies were created in 1950s and 1960s.
Most of these lories are sung by mothers who are at peace with themselves and they sing soothing lories to their kids. But there are some cases when the mother herself is disturbed and the kid could sense that. So although the mother tries to sing a lori, the pain in her heart gets reflected in her singing and the kid, sensing the trauma of his mother, in unable to go to sleep. This , to my mind, is a poignant form of lullaby.
Here is a poignant, pathos filled lori from “Footpath” (1953). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Meena Kumari plays the disturbed mother. I have no idea who the kid is.
Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist (It could be Sadrar Jaffry too, who was the other lyricist for this movie). Khayyam is the music director.
Song-So jaa mere pyaare so jaa (Footpath) (1953) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-Khayyam
Lyrics
so jaa mere pyaare
so jaa so jaa
so jaa mere pyaare
so jaa so jaa
ankhiyon ke taare
so jaa so jaa
ankhiyon ke taare
so jaa so jaa
raat suhaani chandaa gaaye
meethi meethi nindiyaa aaye
raat suhaani chandaa gaaye
meethi meethi nindiyaa aaye
rajdulaare nainan taare sojaa
so jaa mere pyaare
so jaa so jaa
ankhiyon ke taare
so jaa so jaa
aahon ki fariyaad ki duniyaa
ye duniyaad bedaag ki duniya
aahon ki fariyaad ki duniyaa
ye duniyaad bedaag ki duniya
teri duniya chaand sitaare sojaa
so jaa mere pyaare
so jaa so jaa
so jaa mere pyaare
so jaa so jaa
hmm hmm hmm
