By the time we were in 1980s, the golden era of Bollywood movie music was behind us and in we were subjected to music without soul (namely Disco music) in this decade.
Still, one came across some nice music , even if sporadically, in this decade.
“Arpan” (1983) is a movie from 1980s which is a musical extravaganza with music that was a refreshing change from the kind of music that was being composed those days. This movie had several nice songs that appealed to the discerning music lovers and these songs have gone on to become timeless classics.
Here is a song from this movie. This song, “Pardes jaake pardesiyaa” is sung by Lata. It is picturised on Reena Roy and Jeetendra. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist and Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the music.

This song is in THIS movie ?
I vaguely remember hearing this song at the time the movie was released (in those days I used to be in Delhi). Not heard it a lot and I had no clue which movie it was from.
Even now my first instinct, when I saw the title, was that I did not know this song but when I heard the music at the start and the first line, it came back to me.
Nice song, pleasant music.
