I had never heard this song before. And I would have remained blissfully unaware of this song but for a long pending farmaish for this song.
This song is from “Chhaaya” (1961). The song is sung by Talat Mehmood and it is picturised on Sunil Dutt and a very young and pretty looking Asha Parekh. The somg is written by Rajinder Krishan and it must be said that the words are extremely romantic and sensuous. That combined with Salil Chaudhary’s music makes it a gem of a song.

I have heard this song so many times in my mom’s collection. I did not know it was picturized on Sunil Dutt!! Thank you for this wonderful treat.

Yet another favorite of mine, in Talat Mehmood’s romantic voice! I love the lyrics of this song, as well as something which I always note – the tinkle that is heard in the background every time he sings “Ankhon mein masti …”. Do you know what instrument it is?
