One normally associates Ghazals and serious songs with Madan Mohan, but that does not mean that Madan Mohan could not create other kinds of songs, including light hearted songs. One certainly does not associate a Helen-Asha Bhonsle party song with Madan Mohan, but here is one such song.
This song sounds like it could belong to “Teeseri Manzil”, but this song is in fact created three years before “Teeseri Manzil” (1967). This is a wonderful party song/club song. I had never heard this song, though I have heard other well known songs from this movie. This movie in fact is a musical blockbuster. Yes, this song is from “Wo Kaun Thi” (1964) which is known for such immortal songs as Jo humne dastaan apni sunaayi aap kyun roye ,
Lag ja gale ke phir ye haseen raat ho na ho and
Naina barse rimjhim rimjhim– all of them already posted in this blog.
Here is this less known song from “Wo Kaun Thi” (1964) which could come as a great and welcome surprise to many music lovers. What a lovely song it is ! It is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. It is picturised on Helen, Manoj Kumar and others. Raja Mehdi Ali Khan is the lyricist.

We are running on parallel Atul 🙂 I love to watch Oscar (dancing with Edwina, the sister of Ted Lyons) in this one too. He was really so graceful. Ted is there too somewhere but difficult to spot.
