In Hindi movies, singing is used almost as a panacea for all problems. Sing a song, and your problems seem to ge solved. There are in fact songs in which the Almighty is called upon to respond, and the Almighty too bows down before the power of a Hindi movie bhajan.
Often, the actors would fall upon bad days, or would suffer at the hands of powerful tyrants. And in that case, instead of rising against their oppressors, they will rise against the Almighty and remonstrate with HIM that He was doing grave injustice to HIS meek subjects while unduly favouring the oppressors.
I do not know whether the Almighty feels shamed or feels angry on his judgement being questioned like this by the meeks. IN any case, the meeks are too cowardly to act against their oppressors and instead vent their frustration on the Almighty.
Here is one such “remonstrating with the almighty category of song from “Halaaku” (1956). The song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Meena Kumari and others. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist and Shankar Jaikishan composed the music.
