These days I have been posting songs from “Anmol Ghadi” (1946). In this series, here is the seventh song from this movie.
This song is sung by Surendra and it is picturised on himself. Tanveer Naqvi is the lyricist and Naushad composed the music.
Make no mistake about it, this song is a rare gem from the past.

In the second stanza, it’s “yun muskura rahe hai” instead of “kyon muskura rahe hai”. Also, in the last stanza, the line is “kyon hichkiyon ke le pe, gaate hai gham ke gaane” instead of “hichkiyon ki mehfil”.

Excellent song and writeup. However I think your lyrics should be further modified to ” hichkiyon ke lab pe ” instead of ” hichkiyon ke le pe “.
