Ae mere hamsafar

“Chhabili” (1960) was a movie that Shobhana Samarth had produced to launch the career of her second daughter, viz Tanuja. One decade ago, she had similarly launched the career of Nutan, her eldest daughter with a movie called “Hamaari Beti” (1950).
Nutan very much figured in “Chhabili” (1960) as well. In fact, she sang her own songs in this movie.I have in fact posted one song from this movie that was sung by her (and Hemant Kumar) viz. Lahron pe lahar ulfat hai jawaan (Chhabili) .
Here is another song from this movie that was sung by Nutan. Like the other songs of this movie, S Ratan is the lyricist. Snehal Bhatkar is the music director.
This is one of the very few songs where Nutan sang in a Hindi movies. And one must say that she had quite a decent voice for singing.
song-Ae mere hamsafar (Chhabili) (1960) Singer-Nutan, Lyrics-S Ratan, MD-Snehal Bhatkar
Lyrics
ae mere hamsafar
ae mere hamsafar
le rok apni nazar
le rok apni nazar
na dekho is qadar
ye dil hai badaa besabar
ye dil hai badaa besabar
ae mere hamsafar
chaand taaron se poochh le
ya kinaaron se poochh le
dil ke maaron se pooch le
kyaa ho rahaa hai asar
le rok apni nazar
na dekho is qadar
ye dil hai badaa besabar
ye dil hai badaa besabar
ae mere hamsafar
muskuraati hai chaandni
chhaa jaati hai khaamoshi
gungunaati hai zindagi
aise mein ho kaise guzar
le rok apni nazar
na dekho is qadar
ye dil hai badaa besabar
ye dil hai badaa besabar
ae mere hamsafar

Quite a surprise to know Nutan was a singer too ! Did a better than decent job. Actually this song is familiar but Nutan was the surprise.

I have read somewhere that Nutanji also sang a song for 1980 movie KASTURI(Doordarshan once telecasted it,long ago)(which was picturised on herself on the screen) I have seen it in television in my childhood, that`s why I clearly can`t remember the lyrics of the song.
starcast of the movie :
Parikshit Sahni, Mithun Chakraborthy, Dr.Sri Ram Lagoo,Sadhu Meher, Aravind deshpande, Agha, Dulari
director and producer:Bimal dutt
music director: Uttam Singh
Most probably its a movie about tribal people, in which Mithun Chakraborthy acted in a role of tribal man.
Further Nutanji used to sing in stage shows(which was organised by herself ),in late 70`s.

For a minute I thought you had started posting from the era ofd the Khans – Ae mere hamsafar from QSQT. A good song but not the age of songs I associate with your blog :).

I too thought that the title will have people thinking of the QSQT song. But what can I do if the first line of this song is identical to the QSQT song. This song came three decades before the QSQT song.
