Ham to muhabbat karegaa

“Dilli Ka Thug” (1958) was the first movie where Kishore Kumar worked with Ravi and their maiden collaboration gave us some memorable songs that are remembered even to this day.
I have already discussed a few songs from this movie. In fact, I was under the impression that I had posted the song “ham to muhabbat karega” from this movie. But thanks to the farmaish of this song, I became aware of the fact that I had not discussed the song. I was obviously mistaking this song for some other song.
Here is this delightful song from “Dilli Ka Thug” (1958). I would call this song an eve teasing song if it is picturised on someone else like say Rajendra Kumar, but this song as picturised on Kishore Kumar becomes a sweet playful song where Kishore Kumar bares his heart to Nutan in a seemingly light hearted, but nevertheless serious may. After all, the matters of heart are never trivial matters.
The song is picturised on Kishore Kumar and Nutan. Nutan initially makes a show of disinclination towards Kishore Kumar’s advances, but she is obviously enjoying the attention. It is nice to see Nutan playing a happy character in this movie and in this song. I never tire of saying that heroines typoecast in sad roles needed to act opposite Kishore Kumar to get over their sad roles. As it is, tragedy queens like Nutan and Meena Kumari looked so cheerful and happy while acting opposite Kishore Kumar. Kishore Kumar certainly had the knack of make people perk up, not only in reel life but in real life too.
