“Alladin And The Wonderful Lamp” (1952) was a Wadia Movietone movie based on the well known Arabian Night tale. In this movie, Mahipal and Meena Kumari play the lead roles.
Being a Hindi movie, the tale was embellished with some nice songs in it. I have discussed two songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie.
This song is sung by four singers and it is picturised on four actors. Rafi and Asha Bhonsle sing for Mahipal and Meena Kumari respecively, but before than, another couple lip sync in the voices of Chitragupta (better known as a music director) and Shamshad Begam. I request my knowledgeable readers to help identify these two actors.
Pandit Chand is the lyricist and S N Tripathi is the music director.
