Neend pari lori gaaye maan jhulaaye paalnaa

I have discussed some well known lullabies from Hindi movies in these pages. Most of such lullabies (or lori as they are called in Hindi) were created in 1950s and 1960s.
Here is another lari from that era. this song may have been forgotten along with the movie this song is from, but the loss is that of the listeners. What a wonderful lori this is.
This lori is from “Chaar Deewaari” (1961). This movie starred Nanda and Shashi Kapoor. This song is sung by Lata. The singing is wonderful as is the picturisation, which shows Nanda tending to a little one who is sleeping peacefully in his “paalnaa”. Shashi Kapoor looks at them lovingly and indulgently.
This brilliant lori is written by Shailendra. Music is composed by Salil Chaudhary.
Here is this forgotten gem from “Chaar Deewaari” (1961).
This song incidentally is the 300th song of Shailendra in this blog.
