Most people will agree that one Priya Rajwansh is more than enough for one movie. But Chetan Anand obviously did not think so. In “Hindustan Ki Kasam” (1973), she plays double role. In this movie, she plays two sisters separated at childhood (what an original idea ! 🙂 ). One girl ends up in India and grows up with Indian parents, whereas the other girl ends up in Pakistan and grows up with Pakistani parents.
The movie “Hindustan Ki Kasam” (1973) is regarded as one of the best war movies made by Hindi movie industry. It had real life air force pilots (who had seen real life war action a couple of years ago) flying real planes. This movie also had outstanding music by Madan Mohan. Taken together, these were the saving graces of this movie which otherwise did not fare well at the box office.
I have posted one outstanding song (Har taraf ab yahi afsaane hain (Hindustan Ki Kasam) ) from this movie in the past. Here is another equally outstanding song from this movie.
This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Priya Rajwansh, who plays double role in this movie.

Translation :
what if I am not with you, my allegiance is though
my love shall survive, physically I am not with you
chest full of agony raise my hopes and longings,
A night for staying vigilant, keep the flames burning
Do celebrate life, so what if I am not there with you
lets talk of things closer to the heart
and some inner desires
who knows if there is a day and a night
remaining after this war
never give in to tears, even if I am not with you
(This could have been a duet, as the poetry talks of both parties feelings)
P. S. : somethings are obviously lost in translation.

I thought this song would have been a good choice for 100th song of Kaifi Azmi. Well, may be u have something better lined up, as all songs posted today are forgotten gems(except this one).
