While looking for K L Saigal songs, I came across this quintessentially K L Saigal song from “Tadbeer” (1945). It is a movie that I know little about, though.
Here is this song, sung by K L Saigal with his characteristic style. Swami Ramanand is the lyricist. Music is composed by Lal Mohammad. This is the first song of the lyricist and the music director in this blog. That is how rare this song is, as far as I am concerned.

Atul ji,
Tadbir(which means advise or counsel),was directed by Jayant Desai and had Saigal, Suraiya,Mubarak,Jilloo,Rehana Sultan,Shalini etc. in the cast.
The story of the film was unusual.When young,a prediction about Kanhaiyalal(saigal) says that he will go to a prostitute,weild a knife and get sentenced to gallows.
Due to family troubles,saigal and his mother stay with a kind and beautiful prosttute Saguna(Suraiya).Saigal becomes a Surgeon and his step brother Jwalaprasad(Mubarak) traps him in a murder to get saigal a punishment of death.However the good prostitute sacrifices her life and saves saigal at the end.
Music Director Lal Mohammed (from Hyderabad Dn.),gave music to Tadbir,Sohni Mahiwal,Rehana,Omer Khayyam,Mitti etc from 1945 to 1947,when he migrated to Pakistan and continued as a small time Mus.Dir.
His luck opened up when Ahmed Rashdi(also from Hyderabad Deccan),the famous singer of Pakistan started recommending him to producers from 1954 and Lal Mohd. soon became a big time Music Director in Pakistan.
