“Saawan Bhaado” (1949) is an by now obsure movie. It was produced by Prakash pictures. The movie was directed by Kishore Sahu, but publicity materials showed the movie as directed by Ravindra Dave. The movie had Ram Singh, Munawwar Sultana, Om Prakash, Randhir, Indu, Jankidas, Raj Adeeb etc in this movie.
Here is a tear jerker song from this movie. It is sung by Lata. Looking at the star cast, I guess that this song is picturised on Munawwar Sultana.
Mulkraj Bhakri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagatram.
Song-Teri is do rangi duniya mein (Sawan Bhaado) (1949) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Mulkraj Bhakri, MD-Husnlal Bhagatram
Lyrics
teri is do rangi duniya mein
teri is do rangi duniya mein
koi khush kismat koi badkismat
koi khushkismat koi badkismat
teri is do rangi duniya mein
teri is do rangi duniya mein
koi khushkismat koi badkismat
koi khushkismat koi badkismat
kahin phool niraale khilte hain
kahin phool niraale khilte hain
bhanwre kaliyon se milte hain
bhanwre kaliyon se milte hain
kahin veeraane mein khaaq ude
kahin veeraane mein khaaq ude
koi khush kismat koi badkismat
koi khushkismat koi badkismat
koi pee sang jhoolaa jhool rahi
koi pee sang jhoolaa jhool rahi
par apne aap ko bhool rahi
par apne aap ko bhool rahi
koi bichhde saajan dhoondh rahi
koi bichhde saajan dhoondh rahi
koi khushkismat koi badkismat
koi khushkismat koi badkismat
koi prem pyaalaa peetaa hai
koi prem pyaalaa peetaa hai
koi chaak bhi dar pe seeta hai
koi chaak bhi dar pe seeta hai
koi hansta hai koi rotaa hai
koi hansta hai koi rotaa hai
koi khush kismat koi badkismat
koi khushkismat koi badkismat
teri is do rangi duniya mein
teri is do rangi duniya mein
koi khushkismat koi badkismat
koi khushkismat koi badkismat

For this song by Lata in 1949 Husnlal-Bhagatram recycled their own tune of 1948 movie ‘Pyar ki Jeet’ ‘Is dil ke Tukre hazzar hue, koi idhar gira koi udhar gira’ sung by M’Rafi.

Atul ji,
The film was directed by Kishore Sahu.There is a story about its direction,which is described by Kishore Sahu in one interview;
Ravindra Dave was signed by Prakash Pictures to direct this movie. However, after about 25% shooting of the film,Dave and the film’s Hero Ram Singh(who was actively working till 1994 in films),had a major fight. The producers wanted to replace Dave with Kishore Sahu, but Dave put a condition that on all posters and leaflets his name should feature as Director, then only he will leave, otherwise he threatened legal action.
In order to avoid legalities,it was agreed that in the Film credits, the name of Kishore Sahu will appear.
Thus the actual director was Kishore Sahu, but only in Film credit his name appeared and everywhere else Dave’s name was mentioned.
In the Filmography of Kishore Sahu, the name of Sawan Bhadon-1949 appears under Direction everywhere.
