Blog Day :

5528 Post No. : 17980

I have had the link and lyrics of this song saved in my files for some months now.  The month of July 2023 was a month of heavy rains and floods in many parts of India.  We had incessant rains in Mumbai also, where it was raining day and night, with a few breathers in between.

I am fortunate enough to be based in a part of Mumbai, which is better planned and less congested than most other parts.  Though the increase in traffic and human habitation is a reality, but a few natural phenomena’s like ‘waterfalls’ still occur in heavy rains.  I had a few small waterfalls to see everyday while travelling to and from the office each day of last month.  It kept raining and raining and the water falls were never drying up. It is a beautiful sight to see them, pure white frothing water falling from the sides of a mountain.  Each time they tempted me to go and play in that water which is called aabshaar in Urdu – aab is water and shaar is added to make it falling water, which is very close to the ‘shower’.  What is a waterfall – a shower of water. Or a cascade of water.

‘Aabshaar’ (1953) had three composers in all, which must have a story behind it. The film has 8 songs – 3 are composed by Bhola Shreshtha, 3 by Ghulam Haider and 2 by Mohd Shafi. The following 5 songs are already posted in the blog:

Chale Aao Tumhen Hamaare Aansoo Yaad Karte Hain
Dil Par Sau Sau Baar Chalaaye
Mere Dil Pe Chhaaeen Hain Gham Ki Ghataayen
Ye Duniya Suit Boot Ki Babu
Mujhko Hai Tujh Se Pyaar Kyon

Munawwar Sultana is the singer of this song composed by Ghulam Haider and the lyricist is Qateel Shifai. This is a sad song and gets sadder and sadder.  Which is not a good mental state to be in.  It is important to remember that the difficulties and tragedies are very much part of life and they always pass.  It is said that the Almighty ‘tests’ us with these difficulties and trials.  It is called aazmaish and one must always remember that there is sunlight after the darkness of the night.

Sometimes the aazmaish may change our life forever.  Some trials do have huge impact on our life, or what we consider to be our life.  But it is prudent to remember that the Almighty is best of planners and He may have a bashaarat on the other side of the dark night, for He is the only one with the capacity to give anything to anyone.

hum to kya hain wo farishton ko aazmaata hai
banaakar ham ko mitaata hai
phir banaata hai
aadmi toot ke sau baar judaa hai yaaro

jis ka koi nahin us ka to khuda hai yaaro
haan khuda hai yaaro

Song – Koi Sun Ke Kya Karega Mere Dard Ka Fasaana (Aabshaar) (1953) Singer – Munawwar Sultana, Lyrics – Qateel Shifai, MD – Ghulam Haider

Lyrics

koi sun ke kya karega
koi sun ke kya karega..aa
mere dard ka fasaana..aa
mere dard ka fasaana..aa
hua gham ki bijliyon se..ea
mera khaak aashiyaana

mere aansuon se puchho
meri dukh bhari kahaani
aa aaaa aa aaaa aaaaa
aaaa aaaa
mere aansuon se puchho
meri dukh bhari kahaani
jo tadap raha thha bachpan
to ujad gayi jawaani
na mila mere labon ko
na mila mere labon ko..oo
kabhi khul ke muskuraana..aa
hua gham ki bijliyon se..ea
mera khaak aashiyaana

kise apna gham dikhaaun..oon
koi mera gham na jaane
mere haal par hanse ja..aa
yun hi bewafaa zamaane
meri zindiagi bani hai
meri zindiagi bani hai..ae
tere zulm ka nishaana..aa
hua gham ki bijliyon se..ea
mera khaak aashiyaana

koi sun ke kya karega..aa
mere dard ka fasaana..aa
hua gham ki bijliyon se..ea
mera khaak aashiyaana

हुआ ग़म की बिजलियों से॰॰ए
मेरा ख़ाक आशियाना

मेरे आंसुओं से पूछो
मेरी दुख भरी कहानी
आ आss आ आss आsss
आss आss
