Among K L Saigal’s songs, here is a song that I first heard in the video form and was left unsatisfied because it wasonly about one minute long and ended abruptly. The lyrics of the song wre so nice that I was left wanting for the entire song. The audio of the song fortunately contains the whole song.
So, here is this song, in the partial video form as well as the entire audio of the full song. The song is written by Aarzoo Lucknowi and its music is composed by R C Boral. This song is from the movie “Lagan” (1941). What a nice and lovely song it is to listen to !

I am afraid the text of the song given here is wrong at several places. First, it is not ‘tum jeevan mein phool ko rakhna’. Instead, it is ‘tum bhi man mein phool ko rakhna, aur kanto ko hata dena.’ Then, it is not ‘komal man ko sukhi banaye’, but’ komal man ko dukhi banaye’. For immediately after this comes the line, ‘aankh se ansoo mat tapkana, man dheeraj na ganwaa dena’. It is only when your ‘man’ is ‘dukhi’ that you feel like shedding tears. Then it is not ‘yeh ansoo hain dharam ka moti’ but ‘yah ansoo hai dharam moti’. It is ‘tear’ in the singular, not ‘tears’ in the plural.
