Jaao chamka subah ka taaraa

A soft song of separation from the 1952 movie, Hyderabad Ki Naazneen. Arunkumar ji has provided a brief about this movie in one of his earlier comments. I reproduce it here with some edits.
“Hyderabad ki Nazneen is a B grade movie, produced by Wasti, under the banner of New Voice Pictures. Nigar Sultana and Manhar Desai play the lead roles. Other actors include Durga Khote, Murad, Wasti, Indira Bansal, Wazir Mohammed Khan, Shyam Sunder etc. The movie is directed by SM Yousuf. Naazneen means a delicate beauty. It is an adjective that is applied to ladies of exceptional beauty. Filmed as a costume drama, the story revolved round a nautch girl, who desires to leave her profession, and a nawaab trying to woo her. It was not a successful movie; the music and songs were the only saving grace.”
The lyrics are written by Noor Lucknowi, and the soft paced music is by Vasant Desai. The singing voice is that of Lata ji. On screen picturization is on Nigar Sultana and Manhar Desai. The heroine is singing sad song, talking about an imminent separation. The movement and exchanges are very theatrical, as the two move and stop and turn, and look throughout the song.
I am reminded of the song from Bazaar, recently posted on this blog, “Dekh lo aaj hum ko jee bhar ke”, a very similar sounding composition in terms of feelings and emotions.
