“Sim Sim Marjeena” (1958), as the name suggests, is a B grade movie based on the famous Arabian tale story of Alibaba and forty thieves. This movie had Mahipal,Shakeela,Hele, Heeralal,Maruti, Tiwari etc in it.
Since it was a B grade movie, so it follows that the music of this movie must be A grade. Yes, indeed that is the case.
Here is a lovely song from this movie. It is sung by Sudha Malhotra. Asad Bhopali is the lyricist and music is composed by A R Qureshi.
Only the audio of this song is availabble. From the lyrics, it is clear that the song is sung by the lady playing the role of Marjeena. Going by the cast of the movie, it seems to me that it is Shakila who must have played that role. So based on the above Sherlock Holmes like deduction, I guess that this song is picturised on Shakila. 😀 However, I request our knowledgeable readers to help confirm/refute my above conclusion.
