Prem ki ho jai jai

“Chandidas”(1934) was one of the earliest movies in which K L Saigal appeared. In this movie, he sang four songs. Three of them, which are relatively better known and are available on youtube have already been discussed in this blog.
Here is the fourth K L Saigal song. It is a relatively less known song. This song is sung by K L Saigal and Uma Shashi and the credits mention that the voice of Pahadi Sanyal is also there. I am not sure of this fact and I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter. I have however included the name of Pahadi Sanyal too here.
Agha Hashra Kashmiri is the lyricist. Music is composed by R C Boral. The song was obviously picturised on the actors themselves, seeing that they had also acted in this movie.

Atul ji,
Both,Saigal and Pahadi Sanyal have sung this song together.It is not Saigal’s voice alone.
Chandidas was a remake of Debaki Bose’s 1932 film. In this film Saigal was Chandidas and Uma shashi was Rami,his beloved.

You are not the only one to get confused over Pahadi Sanyal in this song. The reason is that Pahadi Sanyal’s style of singing, as I heard one of his solo song, was close to that of K L Saigal.
