“Darbaar” (1955) is a B grade movie produced by Golden Movies and directed by N Vakil. This movie had such B grade big names as Mahipal,Chitra,Kammo, Tiwari,Sundar etc. in it 😀
The movie is by and large safely confined to the dust bin of obscurity, alongwith its songs. But people like me sometimes look into these dustbins of time and come up with gems.

When I began to listen to this song, I was expecting to listen to one of the usual jilted lover songs that Hindi movies have such an abundance of. But the lyrics of the song made me to sit up and take notice. What original thoughts and what original turn of phrases the lyricist has come up with in this song. Just out of the world.
The song is sung by Talat Mehmood with his customary velvety smoothness. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl, but to my mind the real star of this song is the lyricist Asad Bhopali.
