Zara si baat pyaar ki zabaan se nikal gayi

There have been at least two movies called “Salaam Memsaahab”. One of them was produced in 1979 and another one in 1961. Both these movies apparently proved to be lame ducks at the box office.
Here is a song from ‘Salaam Memsaahab” (1961). It is an archtypical get together song where the hero is seated in a grand piano. several guest have gathered. The hero sings a song and as usual , instead of singing a song on topical matters of general nature , his song is addressed as the leading lady, and the leading lady as befits a “shareef ladki” feels ill at ease. And towards the end of the song, the lady, on being prompted to sing, sings a few lines in which she advices the grant piano player cum singer to learn the proper etiquettes to talk to shareef girls.
The song is sung by Rafi and Lata. The lip syncing duo are Subbiraj and Kumkum. I am unable to identify the lady, who in the true tradition of heroine’s closest saheli, feels obliged to dance as the hero sings the song.
Asad Bhopali is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi. And that means the the song is wonderful to listen to.
Here is this lovely song from an obscure movie, which I heard for the first time only a few hours ago.

the lady dancer is Meena Fernandes aka Meena Dancer aka Meena Parel , who also appears in dance sequences of Anari(Raj Kapoor`s-Sab kuchch seekha maine), Sujata(Tum jeeyo hazaaro saal), Ab Dilli door nahin(Jeeyo laal mere tum laakhon baras)
