Ud jaa ud jaa panchhi

“Khandan” (1942) ,a Dalsukh Pancholi production, was one of the biggest movies in Hindi movie industry when it was released in 1942. This movie was inspired from the movie “East Lynne” (1931) which in turn was based on a 1861 novel of the same name written by Ellen Wood. This movie dealt with a topic that was considered quite sensational at that time.
This movie had the erstwhile baby Noorjahaan playing the role of heroine for the first time. And she was paired opposite a newcomer called Pran.
This movie, when it was released in march 1942, broke all erstwhile box office records.
This movie had as many as ten songs in it and many of them became all time classics. I have discussed two songs from this movie.
Here is another song from this movie. this song is a duet which is sung by Noorjahaan and Ghulam Haider. Ghulam Haider is the music director too. The song is picturised on a very young and babyfaced Noorjahaan and an equally young and babyfaced Pran.
I have read one comment in youtube where it is mentioned that the lyricist of this song is M D Taseer and that the male voice is that of Qadir Fareedi. i request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the matter of the male singer and the lyricist.
Here is this song of historical significance and it is nothing short of a miracle that the video of this song stll exists and it is in quite a good shape too.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by nahm.

Sir, I was recently trying to write the lyrics and managed to get in the ? lines:
Unko Koloon Mardoom Hai Panchi
Mera Tu Mahbub Hai Panchi – 2
The second line is clear but the first 2 words of the first lines are not. But there is Mardoom (human in Farsi and Urdu) there. Is this of help in predicting the first 2 words?

Atul ji,
You have got the lyrics exactly right except for the one word “Mandar”.
main ishq ka qaaba banoon
main husn ka “mandar”
‘Mandar’ is another pronounciation of “Mandir”. This song could be adream sequence or stage song, judging from other songs already posted.
I think the last para ” phir hind ko……..” is another attempt at support of the freedom struggle in disguise. It is clear from the line “Insaan ko insaan se azaad karaayein”.
Regards.
