Akeli na jaiyyo ho Raadhe shree Jamuna ke teer

“Musaafir” (1940) is a movie about which very little information is available on line. This movie was directed by Chaturbhuj Doshi and the movie had actors like Ishwarlal , Khurshid , Vasanti , Yakub , Bhupatrai , Kesari , Mirza Musharaf, Bhagwandas , Noor Mohammad Charlie etc in it.
I just came across a rare and delightful song from this movie. This song is sung by Vasanti and it is a call to Raadha not to go to Jamuna alone. the lyrics are written by D M Madhok and music is composed by Gyan Dutt.
I have not been able to get the lyrics right to my satisfaction and there are gaps in it. i request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the gaps/ suggest corrections so that we may be able to enjoy this mong that much more. I also request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as the singer who also acted in the movie and so one can assume that the song was picturised on her as well.
The song, which I heard for the first time only just now, has quickly grown upon me.

There was another superb song in the film sung by Vasanti -“Wo bisari kahani sun meri zabani’. I am dying to hear it. Can someone please download it for me. Khursheed song two very beautiful songs in this film – (1) Kisne haraa mera bhola sa man and (2) Piya jee aan milo hai jiya jaaye.

Atul ji,
MUSAFIR(1940) was a movie early in the career of Khursheed Begum. In fact this was her first movie after she joined Ranjit Movietone. She made her name and fame only after this movie and she came in her colour when she started pairing with Jairaj,Motilal and Saigal.
In this movie, however, though she was the Heroine but the Hero was Noor Mohammed Charlie. She actually got only 3 songs -2 with Vaasanti and 1 with Chorus. No solos. It was later that Gyan Dutt was to realise her potential and support her tooth and nail.
On the other hand Vaasanti, who was already an established singer in those days, had 2 solos,3 duets and 2 with Chorus-total 7 songs.
Not much information is available on this movie, other than what you have mentioned, but this song has been pictured on Vaasanti, who played the role of Khursheed’s saheli in the film.
