I have often opined that people who can be the most playful when happy can also be the most mournful when sad. Kishore Kumar is quite an interesting study in contrast that way. He is mainly known for his happy go lucky genre of songs and acting, but when it came to producing movies, most of his movies, except “Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi” (1958) were all serious movies. Likewise, when one makes a list of the most memorable songs sung by Kishore Kumar, lots and lots of serious/sad songs are bound to figure in that list. In fact, Kishore Kumar has sung more sad/serios songs than is normally believed.
Here is a song from “Anurodh” (1977). The pain that the voice of Kishore Kumar conveys in this song cannot be replicated. I do not know how a music director can tell the singer to bring this kind of feeling in one’s voice. It has to be the singer’s own contribution/innovation, which has elevated the song to a different plane altogether.
This song is picturised on Rajes Khanna as a stage song. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
Here is this fantastic song, which I thought had already been discussed in the past, but it turns out that I was confusing this song from other songs of the movie.

Shakti samantha was majorly associated with Rahuldev Burman(I am talking about that era of Rajesh khanna-Mehbooba,katipatang,amarprem,mere jeevan saathi,Ajnabee,Charitraheen,The Great Gambler,Barsaat ki ek raat,Aawaaz), but with this movie he has joined hands with Laxmikant pyarelal.
According to me other than Sachindev burman,O.P.nayyar,Shankar jaikishen,R.d.buman, Shyamal mitra, Shakthi samantha worked with laxmikanth pyarelal only in this movie.
