“Rajputani”(1946) is by now an obscure movie. This movie was directed by Aspi Irani and it had Jairaj, Veena, Bipin Gupta, Usha Rani,Noori, Altaf Hussain, Azim etc in it.
Here is a song from this movie that I heard for the first time only just now. This is a stunning song and it deserves to be much better known among music lovers.
This song is a duet which is sung by Hamida Bano and Mukesh. Pt Indra Chandra is the lyricist and music is composed by Bulo C Rani. What fantastic lyrics, what superb singing and what wonderful music ! It is a gem of a song !

Atul ji,
This song appears to be one more solo version sung by Hamida Banu with a starting verse ‘aa parwaane aa yahaan shama jal rahi hai’. However, I could not lay my hand on the audio/video clip of the song..

What a wonderful melody! I heard it for the first time too. Thanks for posting. I always have enjoyed Bulo C Rani’s music. Is this the same movie with Madhubala as a lead role and is directed by Aspi Irani?

Absolutely wonderful melody, me too heard first time. I had heard Hamida Bano once or twice, but this song, most melodious song. I thank this blog for providing such a rare song.

You are partly right.
It was directed by Aspi Irani,but in this Ranjit Movietone film Madhubala was not there.
The lead pair was Jairaj and Veena with Usharani,Bipin Gupta,Noori,Azim,Altaf hussain and others.
